If I make a written statement recording my history of abuse by my father, can he sue me for slander/defimation?

He would have a cause of action called libel, which is like slander, but regardswritings published to 3rd parties. But, truth is a defense to defamation. Aslo, you are allowed to give your opinion about matters. So, if in your opinion certain actions taken by your father were abusive, and your father did in fact take those actions, then you should be safe making a statement about the same.
