Legal Question in Immigration Law in Arizona

I have parted ways with my immigration attorney at a stage when my AOS is pending and my priority date is not current. Should I get a new one to continue at this stage or just follow itmyself?

When you are ready for the next step you will know whether you should obtain counsel. My professional advice would be to do so, however, as any proceeding with USCIS, including adjustment of status, is a legal one, and it's always good to have counsel by your side. So take your time, and find an attorney who you think best, and hire for the right reason. Good luck to you!

Of course it would benefit to at least have a consultation with an immigration attorney so that you can find out what the likelihood of being granted adjustment of status is given the facts of your situation, and what the appeals process is if your application is denied, and what the normal processing times for your application are. A consultation could cost between $100 to $200 and can be done by phone, and it would likely shed some light on your situation. If you'd like to set up a consultation you can call my office at (928) 526-3268 during work hours. Jennifer Nagel.

It is difficult to answer the question in the abstract. It depends in part on why you parted company with the previous lawyer and why the priority date is not current. If you want to discuss this further, my office offers a brief free telephonic consultation during normal business hours.
