Re: liability

You message has a typographical error. It states "My adult was driving..."

There is not enough information to give a response.

First, get information and advice from your insurance company. Generally, the owner of a car is not liable, only the driver, but the insurance on the car is responsible. There are exceptions, such as a spouse or family member driving in the scope of a family purpose, employees in the scope of employment, and other exceptions.

If concerned, you can consult with separate counsel. We have experience in representing individuals who have liability exposure above and beyond their insurance limits. We offer free, no obligation consultations. 480.835.1500. We would need to examine all the facts. Do not give any statements, interviews or have any conversation with any insurance company representatives of the person killed, or their family's representatives until you have consulted with counsel.
