Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Arizona

Question about Fiance

Myself and my fiance are in the middle of transitioning moving. He is selling his home, which is still pending in sale. He has most of his belongings in Storage, and has been staying with me for a few months while he has been getting the house ready. We wanted to add him on my lease, but I have a few concerns. I am pregnant and due in May, my lease with my apartments is up in January and we want to either upgrade to a three bedroom or move to a house. I dont know if I should wait to ask to have him added or get him on the lease immediately? Im worried because I dont want to breach my contract with my apartments by having him living with me not on the lease. How should I approach this?

Re: Question about Fiance

Review your lease for any provisions concerning new occupants. If your agreement requires that you notify the landlord of your fiance's moving in, then you need to comply. Also, look for any notice provisions for ending the lease, e.g. if you plan to move out, you may still need to notify the landlord 30 days (maybe more) of your intent to leave at the end of your lease.
