Legal Question in Personal Injury in Arizona

I was recently in a car accident in Arizona. I am trying to get copies of all my medical records and bills for the insurance adjustor. I have been told that I can claim the full amount of my doctor's charges, not just what my insurance paid. I have one doctor who is unwilling to give me a bill showing what the full amount of his charges are. He has just given me a bill with handwritten numbers in the "charges" column. He said this represents what my insurance paid and that his full charges are "meaningless". What should I do? This doesn't seem right.

You are not going to be allowed to "double-dip," as it were. If all you are out is the insurance payments/premiums then you cannot get the "full" amount of medical charges. I don't know who told you that, but it was bad advice. The only time you might be able to use the total doctor's charges as a guideline would be for punitive damages, and only if that is available in your particular case. Good luck!
