Settlement

How do I receive a settlement check, that I've received when I was 17 and it was put into my mothers name I now am 18, the courts have to release the check, is there any way that she can just write a letter and it can be notarized, if she is unable to make the court session, she can state in the letter since I am 18 the check can be released to me.

Is she your real mother ore a guardian? Was the money deposited in an account in your name? How much money?
