Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Arizona

Fences

We moved into our home in 1968 & had a chain link fence installed in the front yard soon afterwards-it had to be put within the property lines because the neighbor had a wall there. Now,our new neighbor is claiming our fence is on his property & wants to go out & take it down.

Isn't this come under a grandfather claus or something?

Yes. The statute of limitations is 10 years and you probably acquired the property under the doctrine of adverse possession. If they don't quitclaim their interest to you, you will need to hire an attorney to quiet title to the strip.
