Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Arizona

My rent was 2 days late and my landlords are charging me $100 extra, plus saying I need to get a money order to pay it. My contract says nothing about this. Is this legal?

Your lease agreement is the controlling document and determines if the landlord can charge you a late fee. I don't know if you paid the landlord the rent that is due and they refused your check. You should go to any Justice Court and see a copy of the AZ Landlord Tenant Act, that is the law that would control when the lease agreement is silent on a subject or there is no lease agreement.
