You can go to the self help center of the Superior Court and you will find instructions and forms to open a probate case. If there is less than $50,000 worth of assets, you may be able to transfer the assets of the estate by the use of an affidavit. If there are substantial assets, then you would be well advised to get legal counsel to lead you through the process. The legal fees will be paid out of the estate.
