Legal Question in Workers Comp in Arizona

I have a worker's comp. casein Arizonia. The comp. insurance company wants me to see an independent doctor. The claims adjuster set up the appointment and I have asked him twice to reschedule it and he has refused. He told me I don't have a good reason or it is to bad. Do I have to go to this appointment and do I have a right to have it rescheduled?

In your question you have omitted explaining why you want to reschedule. I am going to assume that if it was a very important reason you would have stated it here. Remember that this doctor's opinion could be used to close your case, so postponing it could delay the adjuster's ability to limit what is paid. Thus you must have an important reason, and if you don't, you must attend it as scheduled.

If you actually do have an important reason, you should put it in writing to the adjuster and explain that you will attend a rescheduled examination. If he still refuses, call the Ombudsman at the Industrial Commission of Arizona and they can help you negotiate with the adjuster.
