Legal Question in Business Law in Arkansas

Billing and Fees for services rendered...

We provide a service to clients (debt settlement, loan modification, etc.). In some cases the client cannot pay the out of pocket upfront fees. In these cases I would like to bill the client monthly for up to twelve months for the services rendered. Is there any reason I cannot do this? We work in all 50 states. We would go to collections if they default on the payments.

Re: Billing and Fees for services rendered...

This is the trouble with providing services to persons who are in financial trouble. Most of us lawyers have learned through bitter experience that the client who can't or won't pay Cash Up Front isn't going to pay later, either.

Good luck billing them. If I were you I would insist on Cash Up Front. You can do the work and not get paid, but it's better to not do the work and not get paid.
