Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Arkansas

Harrassing Phone Calls

I have been getting phone calls at all hours of the day from an unknown source. I know they are a collection agency, but they refuse to identify themselves, other than with a possible fake work name. I have told these people that I am not working and do not intend to pay them, as I did not incur the debt with them. All of the people I have spoke with are extremely rude and argumentative, and will not listen to anything I have to say. I have suffered abusive language and behavior from them long enough.Hanging up does not work as they constantly and religiously call back. I have told them numerous times not to call, and any further calls are considered harassment. Is there anything I can do, other than not answer my phone?

Re: Harrassing Phone Calls

Yes... Fair Debt Collection Practices Act may apply... Consultation would be required to determine if it does apply...
