Legal Question in Family Law in Arkansas

Name Change

My father deserted our family, ran off with another woman and had children with her using an alias. My half siblings have that alias name. My father died in 1994 after having reclaimed his birth surname. My half sister took the correct name following a divorce but my half brothers are interested in claiming their true name. Is there any recourse other than requesting a name change via the courts? One of my brothers has two children and two former spouses that also carry the alias name.

Re: Name Change

A formal petition for a name change through the circuit court is the only remedy which I believe is appropriate for the name change being sought under the circumstances described.
