Legal Question in Family Law in Arkansas

Custody or Guardianship of Grandchild

My daughter, who is 17, has a baby. She wants to give me custody of the baby because she is unable to handle the responsibility emotionally, financially, etc. Paternity has not been established and the father has no relationship with the baby. Can I get custody without using a lawyer?

Re: Custody or Guardianship of Grandchild

The constitution guarrantees everyone a right to the courts. Is it a good idea? NO!

My suggestion is to hire an Attorney and get a guardianship. This is far too important to go alone.
