Legal Question in Disability Law in California

My company employs several hundred people, and they have very few handicap parking places (only 2 in the closest lot). I have serious arthritis in my knees and feet, and have a doctors' letter, and also a blue DMV handicap parking sign. The company has refused to give me an assigned parking space in a nearby lot, as they are reserved for upper management. What are they required by law to do for my situation?

Handicap space requirements are defined by law, and they are located and quantity specified as part of the building permit and approval process, depending upon the size and nature of the company and parking available. You could contact the local building inspector department and request they send someone out to see if the company has moved, deleted or altered them impermissibly. If so, then you have a claim of ADA violation you can bring by filing suit. Feel free to contact me for the legal help you'll need in pursuing that. I've been doing these cases for many years.
