Diabetic Reaction at work
I had a diabetic reaction at work. They had to call 911, because I was completely out. My sugar was 22. I was trying to get my sugar cubes, then I apparently passed out. A co-worker, who also has diabetes, had the shot(glucagon)on him, so he gave it to me before paramedics arrived 1/2 hour after I passed out. They say it was because of having to contact security. They transported me to the hospital, then I went home for the remainder of the day. They insisted I bring in a doctors note the following day, which I did. When I arrived at work the next day, they gave me a ''Employee Warning Notice'' about safety and work performance and it will be placed in my file. I feel this is unfair that I get written up for a medical problem. Please give me your thoughts. I am suppose to have a meeting tomorrow regarding this letter in my file, with higher authority personnel and human resource people.

Discrimination as a result of a disability is unlawful. Diabetes is problematic as some courts have concluded that diabetes is not a disability as that term is defined by Law. You should seek an experianced employment lawyer in your area to review your claim in detail.
