Legal Question in Banking Law in California
bad check third party
someone wrote me a 2 checks in my name. I wrote on the back pay to the order of someone else, but did not sign the check. ( I had questions if the check was good). this other person went ahead and deposited the checks anyway. the checks were returned due to they were not good after all. What is going to happen? The bank is sending the letters to bank account owner.. Please advise what I should do. Thank you

You committed the crime of check forgery, and you could be arrested, criminally charged, and sent to jail. If you hear from the police, say nothing and contact an attorney.
Re: bad check third party
I may have misunderstood your question. When you said, "wrote me a 2 checks" I thought you had cashed a 2-party check. So you may not have committed fraud, but you will have to make the check good if the drawer of the check does not. The account holder will give you the check back as soon as you pay him, and you could then take the drawer of the check to small claims court. Next time use your own bank accout.
