Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California

Bancruptcy question

I was wondering, if I was to file bancruptcy [chapter 7] and i have a credit card that i am not a primarily holder on...and the paymetns are made regularly and on time:

1.do i ave to include it?

2.what happens after i file bancruptcy?

1. Are you a signatory to the card application, or just an authorized user? If the former, then yes you must list it. If no, then you must list the primary holder of the card for any charges you have made on the card.

If you are responsible for the card and not just an additional signatory, you must include it in the bankruptcy, as well as all other debt. Once you file a Chapter 7 bankruptcy, a meeting of creditors is scheduled about 1 month later, which you must attend. Then, usually, there is usually no further debtor involvement. The debtor usually is notified by either the lawyer, mail, or both that the debts have been discharged and may never again be collected. This is -- however -- is a broad generalization. It all depends on the nature of the debt as to whether it is discharged. The discharge usually takes 3-1/2 months from start to finish in the Los Angeles area.
