Re: bankruptcy

Google United States Bankruptcy court for the link to the uscourts.gov site and you can get all of your questions answered. The workers comp check is income and is part of the calculation to determine whether you are eligible.

To add on to Attorney Singleton-Smith's post, you can get a lot of information online, however, be very careful of the source. The US Bankruptcy Court's website is a good source, however, it cannot substitute for substantative, competent legal advice. Call an attorney - most give you a free initial consultation, and depending upon where you are, fees are generally extremely reasonable. Look at it this way - if you are going to wipe-out thousands of dollars of debt, you owe it to yourself to spend some money to do it right. The repurcussions of doing it wrong can be very bad.
