Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California

Can we file bankruptcy only for some of our debts like some credit cards and equity line, and pay other cards and others.

It\'s tricky. In general you can\'t have a \"preference\" of one creditor, or one type of creditor, over another. The subject is too complicated to address here. You could try Googling for [preference creditors bankruptcy].
