Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California

Can I file Bankruptcy on Promissory Note

I pay a huge interest only payment on a promissory note secured by 55% interest on my home. Loan is known as a ''hard money loan'', and I borrowed it from a private money lender. Can I file bankruptcy to get relief from this debt? I don't want my home repossessed . . . I have 6 kids and will be getting laid off soon. What can I do?
