Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in California

Hi, im 19 and am concerned that my parents have installed content control software on my personal computer (which would monitor my activities on the computer, and give them my passwords). If this were the case, would i be able to sue them?

Almost certainly yes. A possible difficulty of proof would be that you would need an expert witness (they are expensive) to convince the judge or jury that tracking software was on your computer. You could do this. Start chattering online about the huge secret rave next Saturday night over at So-and-so Park. Your parents tip of the cops. The cops show up at the advertised time and place, and nobody is there. They will want to know where Mom & Dad got their info.

"YOUR" computer, or theirs, from their income, in their house, under their rules, that they let you use while you live there? Nice try. If you live in your own place, earning your own way, then it would be actionable.
