Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in California

dog bite

I was walking my dog in a park and he and another dog (terrier) were greeting each other. I began to leave and terrier growled and lunged toward my dog at the same time breaking his lease. My dog bit him, then terrier bit me, then my dog bit him again. Terrier owner is asking me to pay for his vet bills but does not acknowledge his dog bit me or that I have medical bills too. He seems to think that because my dog was bigger dog than his (I have an Amstaff), he has all the rights. I was willing to pay him something, however, since he is not even aknowledging any responsibility, I don't think it is a good idea.

Re: dog bite

If you can't resolve it, take it to small claims court if you want your bills paid. Let the judge sort it out.
