Legal Question in Technology Law in California

retroactive charges for service

When the Napster copyright ruling goes into effect, will I be charged for the songs I already have downloaded and will i be able to keep my list without paying a fee? Isn't there a law/term (Habeus Corpus maybe, expo facto???) that pertains to this? I thought I read about it in a govmt. class in college? What year did this go into effect? THANKS!!!!

You cannot be charged for anything you did not agree to pay. Dont worry.
