Legal Question in Technology Law in California

Can I use other sites information on my site

Hi,

Can I post information gathered from another site and display results on my site.

An example:

If Site A, B, and C sell pens. Can I display and compare the prices Site A, B, and C sell that pen for?

Thanks,

Previous advice that you may display and compare the prices of pens sold on other sites is sound. However, as a cautionary measure to avoid inviting a copyright or trademark based lawsuit, you should avoid appropriating substantial portions of the displayed material from the other sites or providing any HTML links from your site to the other sites. If you can, create your own original display design to convey the price comparison information.
