Legal Question in Constitutional Law in California

Confusion of State

I have a friend who was given a citation for consumption of alcohol. Shes going to school in Oregon and the law there is that you get a fine and lose your license for a month. But she hasn't gained residency in Oregon and only has a California drivers license. My question is, is it possible for the state of Oregon to take her California Drivers License?

Re: Confusion of State

Generally, if an out of state driver is convicted of drunk driving in California, a member of the Interstate Drivers License Compact, California will notify the home state of the conviction; and that state will usually suspend the license in the same way as if the person had been convicted in the home state. However, I do know what the laws are in Oregon. Your friend must contact an attorney in Oregon for advice.
