Legal Question in Construction Law in California
Mechanics Lein
I purchased a new home in Oct. The title was clear. I just refinanced and cannot close as the builder has a mechanics lein on all homes in the community. How is it legal for a mechanics lein to the builder on property he no longer owns? Is it legal is the questions.

Contact the title company you hired to guarantee clear title. They now have to clear your problem. If they don't, and you end up having to take legal action, feel free to contact me.
