Bought unregistered car from dealership

A few months ago I bought a car from a local dealership that had 2001 tags. I recently discovered that the car has been unregistered since 1997. What do I do now?

It sounds like a committed fraud. I would report to dealer to the Department of Motor Vehicles. I would also contact local police and see if I can get them interested in the case. Find out from the Department of Motor Vehicles what it is going to cost you to bring the cars registration into compliance and then take the dealer to small Claims Court for the amount.
