Legal Question in Consumer Law in California

Can I press criminal charges along with sueing them?

An automotive shop for whom put an engine in my car after is was burned up by the neglegence of another shop(for which I am in the process of sueing)sold my car for 2 thousand dollars LESS than what they were charging me to replace the engine alone!! They knew for the first day I had the car towed into their shop that I was suing the other shop and they were so sure that I would win my case(after they examined the car) that they even wrote a declaration and had it noterized for me on my behalf for court. The owner was even going to testify for me in court. This car was paid for in full! plus it was a 1995 t-top Z28Camaro with a custom paintjob, perfect body, power steering, brakes, windows, seats doors an alarm system and I had just installed a brand new stereo system with custom speakers AND WIRING.They promised to work with me on the payments and I had already paid them $3,300 dollars of the $ 8,600 they charged me to installed the engine. When they put the lien on the car I was going to put a hold on the lien but they promised not to sell the car and said that I didnt need the hold. They sold the car for (they claim) $6,700 -2 thousand dollars less than what they charged me for the engine alone!! Ive been robbed help please

Probably you will just be able to sue them and the police or DA will not want to get involved. You can complain to the Bureau of Auto Repair (see www.ca.gov under Consumer Affairs).
