Legal Question in Consumer Law in California

I recently purchased meat from a home delivery service. The company also sold me and some of my friends a 50% off life time discount on meat purchases, the life time discount cost $2500. The amount of the membership and first meat purchase was financed through the meat company. The meat company sold the contact that they financed to a different Financing company . Then 2 to 3 weeks later the meat company went out of business. Myself and others are paying for services and meat that was on back order that we don't have and the new Financing company said we still owe the money even though they can't provide the services financed. Is this legal? Who do I sue. All the meat company phone numbers stopped working. Any advice would be greatful. I've already tried talking to the new financing company's management who said we have to sue the meat company of which they don't have any contact info for. The financing company said even though they bought the contract they are not responsible for anything except the financing.

I would write letters to the district attorney, the California Attorney General, and your local TV station. Look at various websites for information on how to write a letter to the finance company disputing the debt. If the finance company sues you, contact an attorney in your locality.
