Legal Question in Consumer Law in California

Scam American Express

I purchased a gift card by American Express for $50. After trying to make a purchase, I checked the balance on line and it showed that the card was invalid. I called the number on the back of the card and was asked to fax information which I did and confirmed with American Express that it arrived.I was told 10 business days and they would investigate, it has been a month and I never heard from them. My last phone converstion with them was frustrating I got no where. Is there any thing that can be done?
