Legal Question in Consumer Law in California

I took spot delivery on a used car yesterday (Sunday 7-25-2010) with the understanding I would be able to withdraw money from a retirement account to pay for it. That fell through so I applied for a loan through my credit Union and that also was declined.

Can I bring the car back to the dealer? Can they force me to get financing through them? I didn't leave a down payment and would like to return the car (which I've had for less than 24 hours.).

What does the sales contract say? Usually the law allows a three-day cooling off period, but you might have waived that in the "small print". What you signed will tell us much more about your rights and responsibilities. As you now have the car, and they have no money, and you have no money to pay for it, I would suggest that they would be happy to have it back with no strings attached.
