Legal Question in Consumer Law in California
On a vehicle title where ownership is worded as in 'Jane Doe or John Doe', do both parties need to sign the transfer of title upon resale, or can one or the other just sign it?

If the co-owners are listed as "or", then title should be able to be transferred by either one. But, some people won't accept just one owner. It is safer to make sure both named owners sign off on the transfer. Check with the DMV to see whether they will accept transfer by one.
