Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

i was approached by a debt collector on a student laon they claimed was in default i began to pay and years later they still claim i owe a high amount but refuse to disclose to me the amount i owe or any of my past payment history. i should have paid off the loan years ago. what can i do?

You can demand an accounting. If they fail to give it I would hire an attorney to send an appropriate letter. It would help if you had a good record of what was owed and what was paid. My office can handle these matter for a small fee. If interested call at 818 345-0123
