Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

bank account safe?

Hi, I was just wondering if I were to open an account with a bank (like a CD or anything that I can save a little money with by putting a small amount in) if they (credit card companies/creditors) could actually take that money or put a lien on it (I have bad credit but no bankcruptcy). THank you for any help you can give.

Re: bank account safe?

The answer to your question is of course, if the creditor gets a writ of execution and levys on your assets, whether personal property or accounts, the creditor can and will execute against your assets, unless you take steps to protect yourself from such action by your creditors.
