Collection Agencies and the Deseaced

I work for a large medical company and would like to know if it is klegal to send a person who you have been notified that they are deceased to a collection agency? This would be for the state of California, Georgia and Arizona?

If they are deceased, why would you send them to a collection agency?

I do not see why not. However, you should make sure the potential heirs are notified (i.e. the spouse and relatives). That way they are put on notice that you need to get paid. If there is a probate filed, you can file a claim with the court.
