Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

A collection agency purchased my overdue credit account, and now the coolection agency is threatening to sue me to collect payment. Can I be sued by a collection agency, and cant hey garnish my wages?

If they bought the debt and it is not more than four years since the last transaction (whether payment or charge) they most certainly can sue you. They cannot garnish your wages until they get a judgment, but once they do, they certainly can.
