Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

I have court tomorrow, I am being sued for unpaid credit cards that I did not use. My step-father requested numerous credit cards under my name and information.. He has spent around 18,000.00 and refuses to pay me back. He plans on having me to take the fall for his damages.

I have placed a fraud alert through transunion. I have tried to file a police report but they tell me I don't have enough proof to obtain one. What should I do? What should I tell the court? Please someone help me...

MAKE SURE YOU SHOW UP TO COURT. That is half the battle. Then tell their lawyer and judge and jury if necessary exactly what you told us. The credit card company will have to produce proof that you applied for the card and used it. If they can't then you get off, if you did apply and let your step dad use it then you will get stuck with the bill.

Good luck and don't forget to show up.
