Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

What can I do?

Two days before closing the the loan for my home in Wisconsin. The loan Agent called me for another $2290 to pay for collection which reported From 7/1999 in California .

I said to the agent if I have to pay fot that collection I cancel this loan, because it is not my account beside the debt is too old.

She said'' just come up with the money I will hold the check for 30 days for you to correct it ,but I have to pay by law''.

I said ''30 day is not enough time I want 90 days''.

Verbaly agreement was for 90 days for me to correct the with the collector.

I closed the deal ,moved in the home and called the collection agent found out ,it was for the telephone bill in 1998 about $1200 in San diego the bill for the address I do not know .I said to him the bill is not my and he agreed to mail me a form to fill out for investigation .

I waited for the form about a week then called the collector and found out the account was paid in full, therefore, they can not investigate any more .

The loan officer did not keep her words ,mailed out the payment during the time that I requested fot investigation.

I called the loan officer left message ,She did not return my calls .

What can I do ? your advice will be very thankful.

Kim

If you paid for a debt that was already paid, or not yours, you may be able to recover that debt back. If you fax any collection letters you have to 714 363 0229, I will call you on Monday to see if you have a case.
