fired but employer still owes me money

i'm getting paid under the table and my former employer does not want to give me my last check as she fired me. i'm not supposed to work as i'm a foreign student and this was a nanny position. what are my options?

Send her a letter. Also, it makes a difference how much is owed.

Send her written correspondence reminding her of her obligation to pay you, despite the fact that you were undocumented. Having an attorney draft this letter for you may help convince her that you are serious.
