I signed a loan for a friend to buy a motorcycle since he could not qualify. He made some payments then stopped. Can I sue with only a

verbal agreement by him to pay all expenses for the motorcycle. Calif.

Yes, a verbal agreement for something like this is still an agreement. It's a matter of whether you can prove it in small claims court.
