Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

statute of limitations question

I recently was called by a credit company about a unpayed phone bill from 2001. My question is what is the statute of limitations on this?

Re: statute of limitations question

Tell them never to call you again because the statute ran four years from when you last paid the bill. They're calling the wrong number.

Re: statute of limitations question

Generally, it is 4 years from the date of last service or payment. You should send them a validation letter. You can find a sample at my website, www.californiadebtblog.com
