Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

my 17 year old son received a citation on july 26, 2009 for trespassing on posted private property (Los Angeles river Bed). I went to that place and took pictures of the area. There was not even one posted sign anywhere and the field was wide open.

My son did not know that he was not suppose to be there as there was no sign anywhere. I plan to take the pictures to court. What can I expect and what will the fine be? Please advice.

He either has to represent himself, or hire an attorney to do so. It sounds like there are valid arguments and evidence in his defense. You won't know the outcome until you get the judge's ruling. If serious about getting counsel, feel free to contact me.

My advice is to let your attorney do the talking. Either retained counsel or a public defender. It sounds like you have a good case.
