Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Civil Harrassment to daughter from ex-boyfriend.

My daughter's ex-boyfriend and new girlfriend keep harrassing my 16 year old daughter. He is 17, and his new girlfriend is pregnant. They will not let up. He's a dropout and went to the high school last week looking for my daughter and some friends/family to ''beat her up''. They encountered one of my daughters male friends. My daughters friend defended himself and the ex got beat pretty bad. Now he's sore and upset. The police became involved. We tried obtaining a restraining order but were unable to since there has been no violence towards my daughter. Two days after that, she was followed after she was spotted by the ex and his sister. They followed her home and intimidated and threatened her because the police are now involved. It is now 4 days after the fact and they continue to call and make threats. We've added anonymous call rejection to our home phones, so they don't call there. But our cell phones are ringing off the hook with blocked calls. The police can't do anything, the courts can't do anything, what can we do legally to make this stop?

The threats, phone calls, etc. should be enough to justify a restraining order. Try again to get one. There are new developments since you were turned down and they may persuade a judge to see things differently now.

Hire a lawyer if at all possible; if you have a great case but present it badly, you may lose where a lawyer would have won.

Good luck.
