Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

To better clarify I received a misdemeanor failure to register under pc 290 in 2004. It has been 9 years and I have requested expungement 4 times now and the district attorney denied it each time saying I'm a threat to society and the judge backed him. I have no open cases and completed the court community service so how do I get this expunged?

You may have better luck if you get a lawyer to represent you. But not everyone who asks for an expungement deserves to get one. You have not provided enough information to say whether your requests were denied properly.

What's the point of getting a misdemeanor expunged if you have to register as a sex offender under Penal Code section 290?

If the DA continues to object, you probably don't. Expungement would not remove the reporting and registration requirement anyway.
