Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Is it a criminal act to destroy someones elses faxed documents especially if it contains documents from the Police Department? If so, can you give me resources for me to read online? It\'s really hard to narrow my search online.

I assume what you\'re doing is trying to keep your wife from testifying against you in your domestic violence case. What you are doing is called witness tampering or obstruction of justice or violation of the Electronic Communications Privacy Act and yes, it would be seen by the authorities as a criminal act.
