Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

I drop my cellphone in a stores. A man find it then give a man who said that his phone. I met this man asked my cell phone but he rejected it then he ran by his car I don't know his licence play number. The owner of stores where I drop my phone and the man saw my phone (he gave the phone for the man) said that the man took my cell phone is owner of a restauran near the store. I came the restauran where they show me then ask his wife about my cell phone but she angry with me. What should I do? My cell phone have all my family pictures and infomation. Thank you so much for your help.

I would contact your cell phone company to report loss/theft to them and to see usage and numbers called since you lost it. They can shut off the phone, but you may not want to do that; then the other person may dispose of the phone. Then go to the police and see if they'll take a report and investigate. Good luck!
