Ouch... you need to go in an recall the warrant immediately! Why? Because if you get picked up, you will be held in jail until your court hearing.

Going in with an attorney is very important so that you can stay out. You need to take care of this immediately, you don't want to go to jail for a bench warrant and have to be bailed out or stay in jail until your case has cleared up.

Call me with any questions. I give free consultation.

You need an attorney ASAP. The longer you wait, the longer you run the risk of getting arrested on the warrant. It's always better to appear in court voluntarily after learning of the warrant (with your attorney), rather than being arrested on the warrant and facing the judge from behind bars.

Find a good, local criminal defense attorney that routinely practices in the court where your case will be heard. They will be able to get you in touch with a bail bonds company, should you need it, as well as guide you through the process to get the warrant recalled and start defending you in court.

the big thing to remember is that you have picked up a new charge, FTA. FTA is a felony in felony cases, and a misdo in misdo cases. So even if you get the bench warrant recalled you now have a new charge, AND A PV!!!!!! Tuesday and Thursday are my El Monte\Whittier\ Pomona court days, so call me at (805) 267-1267 if you'd like to surrender Thursday.

I don't know if you need a lawyer or not. There are too many facts that I don't know. Any lawyer who, knee-jerk, just says "you need a lawyer", may have another agenda then what's in YOUR best interest, and not THEIR best interest. Some of the facts I'd need to know are,1) When was the court date you missed ? Was it 3 days ago or 3 months ago ? Also 2) Why did you miss the date ? Were you in the hospital or were you in Vegas ? 3) Is the case a felony or misdemeanor and what are the facts(injuries) of the case (any weapons) etc....As a Former Deputy District Attorney and as a Certified Criminal Law Specialist, a profeesional should have these questions answered, and many more, before any professional answer should be given. All the above being said, you need to speak to a lawyer you trust to give you an honest answer. I wish you well....David Wallin
