Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

I am on informal probation for misdemeanor theft - I just picked up new charges in a different court for similar conduct. I already appeared on the new charges and had the warrant recalled. I now have a progress report for old charges - in front of a different judge - what are the odds that he will know about the new charges (this is LA County) If he does, what is likely to happen to me at my progress report? Will I be remanded to custody for violating, pending a probation revocation hearing? Or will I be allowed free on OR until such a hearing if I have a good track record in front of this judge?

I think I answered your question on Avvo.com. Any of the above can happen, however, if you hire an attorney to handle the matter for you and with you, that shows the judge that you are going to take care of the issue and it is more likely going to get you OR.

Like my colleague I answered this question. The response is the same. The judge will more than likely see your new violation. That will be a probation violation. You need an attorney! - and perhaps a bail bondsman lined up. An attorney would beneficial. Your good track record in front of the judge will not change the fact that you potentially violated probation. Get an attorney. Do not take any chances.
