if i was to show up at the police station with a lawyer/public defender for a warrant.would i have to still post bail and or be put into custody.for a 20,000.00 bail.

You need to have an attorney file a motion to quash the warrant and reduce the bail to an own recognizance release. Otherwise you will get arrested even if you show up at the station with a lawyer.
